Commencement and Graduation

Commencement (graduation ceremony) is only in spring and summer. Students who graduate in fall, winter, or spring are all invited to the spring Commencement ceremony. Academic Hooding is offered every quarter and is a smaller ceremony within Daniels College of Business.

Please review the instructions for applying for graduation. Students should submit an application for graduation no later than the first day of the student’s second-to-last academic quarter.

Criteria for Graduation: The University requires all students to complete an application for graduation two quarters in advance of the student’s anticipated graduation date. The application for graduation is a notification from the student to the University. In order to be invited to the graduation ceremonies, a student must complete an application for graduation. The application for graduation will prompt the student’s academic advisor to complete a preliminary graduation review. The graduation review is a written confirmation that the student is on track to graduate and outlines the remaining graduation requirements for that student. Finally, the application for graduation prompts the academic advisor to complete a degree certification for the student. The degree certification indicates a student has completed all of their degree requirements.
