Set Up Your Student Email

All students are required to use their DU email account. You should check your email daily for messages regarding registration, news and events. Faculty will also send important assignments, changes, announcements for class meetings and other notices to this address.

After you pay your admission deposit, it takes roughly 48 hours for University Technology Services (UTS) to create your email account.

Activate Your Account

To activate your student email account, you will need to change your password. To do this:

  • Log in to PioneerWeb using your DU ID and your initial password (should be your birth date—MMDDYY—if you have not already logged in to PioneerWeb and changed your password).
  • Select GO (next to Logout) > My Account > Click Here to Edit My Account. Change your password here.

To access your new DU email account, log in to Office 365 using your email address and the new password you created in PioneerWeb. (There is about a five-minute lag time after changing your password for it to start working in Office 365.)
